TAG Heuer Formula 1 Makes a Nostalgic Comeback with Kith

Writer: TJ Editorial Team

The recent collaboration between TAG Heuer and Kith has brought forth a collection of watches that blend nostalgia with contemporary design, marking a significant revival of the iconic TAG Heuer Formula 1 line.

Ronnie Fieg, the founder of Kith, spearheaded this project, drawing inspiration from his personal connection to the Formula 1 watches of his youth.

Tag Heuer Formula 1 Kith Watches

TAG Heuer Ignites Formula 1 Roots

The collection comprises 10 distinct models, each a nod to the ’90s F1 vibe while introducing modern elements. Fieg’s approach was to create watches that capture the essence of the original ’90s designs while infusing them with a fresh perspective. They come in a variety of colours and material combinations, paying homage to cities where Kith has a presence and representing TAG Heuer’s historical significance as the Formula 1 line’s originator in 1986 and with the TAG Heuer Monaco.

One of the standout features of this collaboration is the attention to detail. The watches maintain a 35mm size, going against the trend of larger watch sizes and emphasising their unisex appeal.

Priced at $1,500 AUD each, these watches are positioned as a premium offering, featuring robust rubber straps, arnite bezels, and sapphire glass—proving they’re a durable option.

Tag Heuer Formula 1 Kith Collection

The collection is divided into three categories: references exclusive to TAG Heuer, references representing locations with Kith stores, and a shared reference embodying both brands’ aesthetics.

Each watch is also limited in production, adding to their exclusivity and appeal to collectors.

Notable design elements include the “Kith Heuer” logo, a modification that reflects TAG Heuer’s avant-garde approach under CEO Julien Tornare. Engravings such as “Just Us” and “Kith and Kin” add a personal touch to each watch, enhancing their storytelling aspect.
