Cape Agulhas Origins
The name Agulhas is conceived from Cape Agulhas, a rugged and beautiful coastal region located at the southernmost point of South Africa. Agulhas founder, Dean Kruuse remembers his earliest memories at Cape Agulhas, marvelling at old Land Rovers pulling fishing boats on the beach.
By no means things of beauty, these workhorses had an almost invincible nature provoking admiration and passion that stuck with him. Similarly, every aspect of the Agulhas brand is based on luxury, refinement and beauty while still being rugged and durable.
Blending Heritage with Modern Performance
Growing up in South Africa, immersed in the Land Rover lifestyle and brand for his entire life, Dean gained a clear understanding of what is required to build a Land Rover with such high merits. His vision is and will always be to build vehicles from the ground up and show no compromise in quality and attention to detail.
This results in a Land Rover unmistakably in touch with its heritage but modern in performance, reliability and refinement. Owning and operating two Independent Land Rover repair shops in America, competing in the G4 Challenge, and working at various dealerships, Dean’s experience with these vehicles across all terrains and conditions has enabled this dream to become a reality.
Custom Features
At Agulhas, we refuse to incorporate flashy accents, wheels, and colours. The details of our builds are carefully thought out with timelessness in mind. We have a set list of paint options for customers to choose from, which includes Land Rover heritage and icon paints. We boast an array of paint options sampled from South Africa and Cape Agulhas itself.
When discussing with clients about a build, we like to incorporate their personality into the vehicle too. Whether that be an add-on accustomed to their lifestyle that will enhance their use of the vehicle or building the vehicle with certain engine, suspension, and transmission options. Every vehicle we orchestrate is designed with the customer’s needs and the brand image in mind.
Eventually, Agulhas Bespoke will offer not only vehicles but also merchandise from clothing to photographic prints, sunglasses to baggage. There is no limit to what Agulhas can do and where it can go but it will always stay true to our foundations and beliefs of what sets this brand apart.
