The Best Watches of the 2026 Oscars

Writer: TJ Editorial Team

Another award season down and another impeccable display of rare watches on the red carpet. The A-listers at the 2026 Oscars put on a show with vintage, modern and unreleased watches from all our favourite brands.

From Leonardo DiCaprio’s vintage Rolex to Ryan Coogler’s minimalist Cartier, here are some of the best.

Matt Friend - Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Comedian and impressionist Matt Friend arrived wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with its’ yellow gold case, black Cerachrom bezel, turquoise dial and Oysterflex. It is still very much a racing chronograph at heart, but the precious metal and sleek black rubber strap give it a slightly more relaxed, modern feel on the red carpet.

Hudson Williams - Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas

Hudson Williams took a different route with the Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas, one of the more unconventional pieces seen on the carpet this year. The Serpenti line dates back to the late 1940s and is famous for its flexible Tubogas bracelet that wraps around the wrist like a coiled serpent. It is usually associated with women’s jewellery watches but has crossed over into more experimental styling recently.

Leonardo DiCaprio - Rolex 1908

Leonardo DiCaprio kept things classic with the Rolex 1908, one of Rolex’s newer dress watch releases. The model replaced the Cellini line and nods towards the brands more traditional side with a slim profile, small seconds subdial and mid-century design. The particular piece worn by DiCaprio in platinum with the ice blue dial is class.

Ryan Coogler - Cartier Tank à Guichets

Director Ryan Coogler wore one of the more interesting but minimalist watches of the evening, the Cartier Tank à Guichets. Originally introduced in 1928, the design replaces a traditional dial with two small apertures that display the hours and minutes digitally through a jump hour mechanism. Cartier revived the model recently in a limited release, bringing back one of the brand’s most unusual Tank variations.

Michael B. Jordan - Piaget 9297 Tank

Michael B. Jordan leaned into the seemingly on-theme vintage territory with the Piaget 9297 Tank. Piaget built its reputation in the mid twentieth century producing ultra thin dress watches and elaborate gold case designs, and this model reflects that era perfectly. The rectangular case and slim profile slip neatly under a cuff, matching the criteria for the perfect dress watch.

Nicole Kidman - Vintage Omega

Nicole Kidman appeared with a vintage piece from Omega, a nice reminder that there is so much more to the brand than a Speedmaster or Seamaster. Omega produced countless elegant dress watches through the 1950s and 60s, many of them in delicate gold cases with simple dials and small proportions. Those pieces are increasingly popular again, partly because they capture a level of restraint that is rare in modern watch design. On the Oscars carpet it felt like a quiet nod to that era of understated glamour.

Kumail Nanjiani – Vacheron Constantin Overseas

Kumail Nanjiani arguably wore the most technically impressive watch of the evening, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton. It combines a perpetual calendar complication with an openworked skeleton dial, allowing the wearer to see through the movement while still maintaining the slim proportions of the Overseas Ultra Thin line.

Chris Evans – Chopard L.U.C XPS

Chris Evans finished the lineup with the Chopard L.U.C XPS, one of the quiet standouts of the dress watch world. The L.U.C line is where Chopard shows its serious watchmaking credentials, using in house movements and extremely thin cases. The XPS in well is known for its clean dial, slim profile and subtle finishing. It is the kind of watch that does not shout for attention but tends to impress the people who know what they are looking at, which is usually the sign of a well chosen red carpet piece.
